When designing the website, I wanted to incorporate a brutalist vibe with vivid orange accents, bold typography, and strong lines to elevate the browsing experience.

It’s a complete overhaul—in a positive way—from the old, confusing Wix CMS that never functioned as an independent website.

By leveraging a global CDN, aggressive image optimisation (responsive WebP formats and lazy loading), critical-path CSS inlining, deferred JavaScript, and Gzip compression, every page—from the homepage gallery and Q&A section to Google reviews and contact forms—appears almost instantly.
This sub-2-second performance not only highlights the studio’s bold tattoo art without delay, but also reduces bounce rates, keeps users engaged longer, and builds immediate trust. In just 30 days, the newly launched New Spider Ink website soared onto Google’s first page for competitive terms like “cover up tattoo,” and other keyword search terms outpacing long-established Dublin studios with a carefully crafted organic SEO strategy.
